Blithe Hill Nurseries: Orangeville Ontario ..

Blithe Hill Nursery is located in the heart of Central Ontario’s Eventing country, a land of hills, good water, and excellent hay. Our business is growing large specimen trees, hardy in an exacting climate. In addition, we have a small breeding program for Sport Horses and Welsh ponies. It is a challenge to breed a horse of speed, accuracy, elegance and courage, and our mares must prove themselves in competition before they are bred. It is our DREAM to produce a top Canadian-bred Event horse ridden by a top Canadian rider. We have been very fortunate in the riders who have helped develop our horses: Joni Lyn Peters, Rebecca Howard, Margaret Godson, and Shandiss Wewiora & Jordan McDonald. Riddle Master represents our third generation of Event Horses and we have several promising youngsters of our fourth generation coming along for the serious event rider.

I am also compelled to acknowledge the support and energy that is so frequently directed my way by so many "back home" and throughout in the eventing world. The likes of Horse Trials BC, Nick & Ali Holmes-Smith, David & Rosemary Holmes-Smith, Lynn and Jens Larsen have been tireless in their support of the goals of BC riders striving for excellence.
